Security of every IT service starts at the basics with the infrastructure. Most of the Polish businesses still have their own server rooms, although not many can afford quality data processing experts specialist companies can.

According to “IT Focus” research, as many as 31% respondents point to recurring failures at their current server rooms as the reason for relocating IT infrastructure. Colocation of resources in a professional data center not only excludes the risk of failure due to inappropriate environment, but also the risk of unauthorised access to data, or losing data because of the lack of 24/7 monitoring.

When choosing a supplier, you should look at official certifications awarded by independent international institutions. Rated 4 ANSI/TIA-942 certificate means that Data Center 2 is fault tolerant, meaning that single incidents won’t stop its operation. The facility has been subject to audits in four key areas: architecture, mechanics, electrical, and telecommunication. Our Data Center received top scores in all of them. It is the only data center in Central and Eastern Europe with such security standards and the highest certification level under ANSI. Data Center 2 guarantees continuity of operations and access to resources at 99.995%, confirmed by an additional SLA. This was made possible by emergency power supply using Diesel Rotary UPS and standard UPS system with batteries and generators. The building was equipped with the lightning protection system and located in an area safe from flooding. Fire protection is based on multisensors, very early smoke detection, and an automatic fire suppression system.

Safety is provided not only by the technical systems, but also the physical security. Data Center 2 is subject to strict security guidelines with regards to employees and visitors. More than 300 CCTV cameras are installed across the facility, and employees have access rights appropriate to their position. Access to server compartments is protected with additional security codes.
